Paolo has been assisting for over 17 years. He started assisting while   attending Humber College where he studied “Commercial Photography” as a mature student. He had the great honour of receiving the Presidents Letter for “attaining the highest standing” for the last 3 out of the 4 semesters that he attended Humber College. He graduated Humber at the top his class receiving many awards including the Tamron and Manfrotto Canada Award, the Peter Jones Memorial Award, the Lisle-Kelco Limited Award, the Steichen Lab Portfolio Award, the John Harquail Award, the Agfa Imaging Award and the Downtown Camera Award. He continues to assist in Toronto but has traveled to many places, over the years, to assist.


Paolo is skilled in practically all areas pertaining to a photo shoot, from pre-production to post-production. He has worked on almost every type of photo shoot including table top, room sets, fashion/beauty, lifestyle, architecture, interiors, advertising, editorial, corporate, industrial, TV/Film galleries, in every type of studio and in many locations throughout North America.


Paolo’s skills include advanced knowledge of today’s professional Medium format and DSLR camera systems. He has great command of current releases of Mac OS, Capture One Pro, Photoshop and colour managed workflows including calibrating and profiling hardware. He knows how to use flash equipment systems including: Profoto, Broncolor, Speedotron, Elinchrom and Dynalite to name the most popular. Other lighting systems that he has worked with include Kino Flo, Arri and other continuous lighting systems of the HMI, tungsten and fluorescent varieties. He has used virtually all light modifiers from the most popular flash lighting systems and also from brands like Chimera, Plume, Mola, Red Wing, Photoflex, Photek, and many others. His grip skills are excellent using such brands as Gitzo, Manfrotto, Avenger, Matthews, American, Cardellini, Foba, IFF and many more.
